The ICE program provides the participant with a unique insight into the relationship between exercise, movement and musculoskeletal injury.

The focus of the program includes a combination of theoretical and practical strategies to assist the health and fitness professional assess musculoskeletal function, apply corrective exercise strategies and select and plan exercise appropriate to the individuals needs.

The workshop series explores the grey area between clinical therapy and performance exercise which is crucial for the progressive physical health and safety of the client.

Exercise is a valuable tool in developing efficient locomotion of the musculoskeletal system, the ICE program assists you to establish practical strategies to maximise physical performance and minimise the risk of musculoskeletal injury.

The Integrated Corrective Exercise Program is comprised of the following Levels

Level 1 - Structural Analysis & Corrective Strategies Certification

Level 2 - Corrective Exercise Certification

Level 3 - Integrated Stability Training

This workshop is a specific & practical program that will provide the trainer with a sound knowledge and broader understanding on how to safely train & work with pregnant women.

"Pregnancy & Exercise" is appropriate for Personal Trainers, Pilates Instructors, Massage Therapists with an interest in exercise, and new graduate Physiotherapists.

Remove the mystery around exercise for pregnant women

Pregnancy creates a range of physical changes which can alter the quality of musculoskeletal function, both short & long term. This workshop incorporates a range of exercise options to maximise spinal health before & after pregnancy.

The program identifies the physiological changes experienced during pregnancy as well as the effects on the baby. Through a range of practical components, the trainer learns safe and alternative ways to work with a pregnant woman, whilst still attaining an understanding of the theory of both the anatomical and physiological changes that occur in a woman’s body during the course of pregnancy.

  • Learn how the body changes during pregnancy and how to change the exercises to better suit the needs of that client.
  • Gain a detailed understanding on the effects on the fetus and how the body changes in response to the needs of the fetus, and all the variables needed in order for it to grow and develop.
  • Experience key practical components for Yoga, Pilates & Ball work
  • Learn the precautions that need to be taken, and the contraindications to exercise
  • This workshop gives a trainer greater confidence, understanding and empathy for working with women who are pregnant.

Myofascial Therapy Certificate - Level 1 (8 hrs)

This workshop gives the participant an understanding of the application of trigger point therapy. Myofascial trigger points can play a major role in musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction facilitating sensory and motor disturbances, autonomic phenomena and poor myofascial performance.

The workshop develops your ability to recognise the characteristics of trigger points and provides precise ‘hands on’ protocols for deactivating trigger points which impact on musculoskeletal function. Learn trigger point applications for over 30 muscles in the head, neck, shoulder and trunk which contribute to common pain syndromes.

Pre-requisite - a minimum of a certificate in Physio/ Chiro/ Osteo/ Massage or completion of ICE Level 1.

Myofascial Therapy Certificate - Level 2 (8 hrs)

Short cut your learning by taking this one day workshop which explores the myofascial continuum. The myofascial system is an interwoven network which impacts on every system in the human body. Learn a variety of myofascial techniques to use to increase musculoskeletal function whilst applying simple strategies to address common musculoskeletal pain and injury.

Gain an insight into how the body patterns pain and ways to fast track recovery and maintenance of the myofascial continuum. Learn hands on myofascial assessment protocols to establish the health of the musculoskeletal system plus pain alleviation protocols for; cervical and thoracic pain, rotator cuff tendonitis, tennis and golfers elbow, lumbo- pelvic dysfunction, hip pain, hamstring strain, groin pain, Iliotibial band syndrome, knee dysfunction, calf pain, achilles tendonitis and much more!

Pre-requisite - Certificate in Myofascial Therapy Level 1

Myofascial Therapy - Foam Roller Applications (3hrs)

WORKSHOP OUTLINE
This workshop investigates the relationship between muscle and fascia, and its influence on movement and exercise. Explore the relationship between myofascial dysfunction and pain, including:

  • Nerve entrapment
  • Muscle length tension imbalances
  • Decreases joint range of motion
  • Loss of muscular strength and coordination

Learn skills to enable you to:

  • Identify myofascial dysfunction through palpation
  • Apply foam roller techniques to address myofascial restriction
  • Apply myofascial stretching techniques for optimal performance
  • Implement simple strategies to improve myofascial health

And much more:

  • Functional anatomy
  • Movement impairment identification
  • Trigger point therapy and compression massage theory plus practical

Pre-requisite: certificate in health/fitness modality

This 2 day workshop explores upright motion (walking), breathing, eccentric anatomical loading and myofascial movement patterns to streamline a holistic approach to back pain strategies in both clinic and studio environments.

The workshop gives manual therapists and movement professionals a subtle insight into understanding the anatomical needs of the back pain client and addressing those needs in a safe and simple way. The workshop covers client assessment, application of the myofascialmoves assessment sequence and movement selection for optimal back health.

Myofascialmoves has a strong practical component complimented by science based principles and strategies that you can implement immediately into the clinic or studio environment.

The workshop uses Thomas Myers Anatomy Trains anatomical model as a guideline to understand longitudinal anatomy and its implications in myofascial back pain and dysfunction.

Compliment your myofascial treatments and exercise programs with holistic movement strategies.

What you will learn:

  • Ten holistic movements that eccentrically load longitudinal myofascial lines of anatomy
  • How to assess each myofascial line relevant to back pain and dysfunction
  • The relationship between eccentric loading ability and back pain pathology
  • Identify aberrant breathing patterns that contribute to myofascial back pain and dysfunction
  • Apply breathing techniques to facilitate optimal back health
  • Understanding upright motion and its relevance to myofascial back pain and dysfunction
  • How to apply upright motion modifications to facilitate optimal back health
  • Sixteen principles of myofascialmoves application
  • The strategic value of each myofascialmove principle relative to back pain
  • The anatomical components of each myofascial longitudinal line
  • How to integrate and isolate longitudinal anatomy to facilitate optimal back health
  • An insight into the therapeutic applications of the longitudinal anatomy paradigm.
